Ninjago Theme Cake For My 6yo Boy

My recent baking project was my big boy 6th birthday cake. Few months before his birthday.. we been discussing about what theme he wanted. He mentioned he wanted Spiderman.. Batman.. Boi-boi Boy.. (Sorry Ben10 is out this time.. not his cup of coffee anymore.. :-p) and finally he decided wanted to have NINJAGO theme.

He loves Lego so much.. and the latest craze among little boys is the NINJAGO. My boy been playing the game on my ipad.. so that is why he so crazy about this thing I guess.. O.+

Here are the looks of the cake. I actually planned to make 4 plugs looks like the Ninjago theme wall all around the bottom layer cake.. but due to time are too limited for me.. I finally made 1 fondant plug for front of the cake.

It’s not exactly like what you can see on the real Ninjago scene.. but I just made something similar only to make the boy happy.. hihi.

Close up.. it kind of empty all around.. I really concentrate on the cake only.. I thought of adding a thin layer of fondant to cover the cake wood.. but seriously.. I have not enough time.. I am preparing the pinata, the goodie bag.. and not to mentioned other chores.. fuhh!!

The cake with candles during the cake cutting.. it was awesome with the fire (Candles) scene actually.. :)

I choose to make chocolate cake with Ganache both layers.. Yummy!! All figurines are using fondant which I mixed with Gum Tex from Wilton to make it harden a little. I prefer to use the ready made Satin Ice gum paste which are perfect and hold very well unfortunately the nearest bakery supply run out of that. :(

Anyway.. I will post a tutorial on how to make the Ninjago figurine on next post under Baking Project.. Oh yes.. and the cake recipe and the Ganache too..

Check out soon.. Follow me on FB to receive updates on my blog ya… *wink*
